Don Bentz serves as Vice President and Senior Business Consultant at Visionary 360, bringing decades of real-world experience across technology, public safety, and business leadership. His career began in electronics and wireless communications, working hands-on with infrastructure supporting public safety systems, including emergency dispatch centers. That early exposure built a deep respect for mission-critical systems and shaped his long-standing commitment to helping organizations operate with precision and accountability.
In 1997, Don transitioned fully into the IT industry, holding a wide range of technical and leadership roles. His experience spans climbing 300-foot communication towers, overseeing E911 dispatch center installations, earning his MCSE certification in 1999, and serving as a Systems Engineer. Over time, he advanced into service leadership, working as a Service Manager for multiple organizations before co-founding and leading a successful managed services firm. After exiting that business, he joined Visionary 360 to focus on strategic consulting and operational improvement for technology firms.
Don’s industry involvement extends well beyond client engagements. He has served on the board of directors for CompTIA and has been actively involved with the ASCII Group, contributing to the IT community through leadership, mentorship, and advocacy. His formal education includes an Associate degree in Electronics Technology along with coursework in information technology and broadcasting, supported by numerous certifications from Microsoft, SonicWall, Citrix, and other leading providers.
Alongside his technology career, Don dedicated 21 years to public safety, serving as a first responder in Fire and EMS beginning in 1983. He retired in 2004 as an Advanced EMT. That experience sharpened his ability to remain calm under pressure, make decisive judgments, and lead with integrity, qualities that continue to define his consulting style.
Outside of work, Don has always been drawn to the water and physical discipline. After competing on swim teams and working as a lifeguard and instructor, he went on to coach swimming for the YMCA and local school corporations. He is also active in competitive bodybuilding and remains deeply committed to fitness. In the gym, he regularly trains alongside others and mentors those looking to improve their strength, discipline, and performance. Whether coaching, consulting, or training, Don is driven by helping others raise their standard and execute at a higher level.
